Allyson Moore - Biography
Allyson Moore
I started
singing at a very early age. My mother used to say I started singing before I
could even talk. Mom played the piano at church and there was lots of music in
our house. When my parents got divorced, Mom had to sell her piano, but that
didn't stop the music in me. I can remember sitting in my room with her hymnbook
singing the “Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”. After we moved, we
didn't go to church. It was a long time before we ever went back to church. I
always kept that hymnbook—it
kept me singing and drew me closer to the Lord. When my sister and I moved
back to NC to live with my Dad, we finally were able to go to church.
My sister and I went by ourselves a long time before Dad decided
he would go. I was determined to go and it gave me great joy to be in church. A
very special woman, named Pam Shaw, saw something special in me and encouraged
me to sing in the Christmas Play. Although I was very insecure and shy, I did
it! Through that experience Pam continued to encourage me and helped me realize
God had given me a special gift. Today, I am trying to spread God's Word
and bountiful grace through song. I pray that God will use me as a vessel to
proclaim the “Good News of Jesus Christ” and through that, someone may be
blessed and come to know Him as their Lord and Saviour.
